DUESSELDORF (Dow Jones)--Giant German industrial conglomerate Siemens AG (SI) aims to lead an ambitious electrical-power generation scheme in Northern Africa helped by technology developed by an Israeli solar power manufacturer it acquired Thursday.
Solel Solar Systems Ltd., which Siemens bought for $418 million from the London-based investment firm Ecofin Ltd. and another major shareholder, is one of the world's biggest makers of solar receivers, a key component in Solar thermal power plants
